The OCT is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages.  Similar to ultrasound, the OCT utilizes light waves rather than sound waves to illustrate the different layers that make up the back of your eye (retina).  The instrument  captures both a digital fundus photograph as well as a three-dimensional cross-sectional scan of the retina at the same time.

The scan is non-invasive, painless, simple, quick, and is a highly advanced diagnostic system that evaluates for potentially serious conditions of the eye.

The OCT allows your eye doctor to more efficiently diagnose and monitor a number of eye conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, macular epiretinal membrane, glaucoma, macular holes, vitreomacular traction and vitreous detachments as well as numerous other eye conditions.
